Name:

Jim Hirschauer

What I will be working on:

I am concentrating on searches for new phenomena with sensitivity to variants of supersymmetry that predict final states with low missing transverse energy (MET). Rather than require significant MET, I focus on final states composed of several particles with high transverse momentum, including photons, leptons, and jets.

My role in CMS past and present:

After joining CMS in 2009-10, I contributed to the determination of the single particle response of hadron calorimeter (HCAL), the calibration of HCAL, and the identification and filtering of anomalous noise in HCAL. In 2011, I served as HCAL Operations Coordinator. Since early 2012, I have served as co-convener of the Exotica Leptons+Jets working group.
