What I will be working on:

I will be working on searches for processes with Higgs boson decays to bottom quarks and upgrades to the Level-1 trigger. As Run 2 starts, I will search for standard model associated Higgs boson production with decays to bottom quarks, an important channel in establishing the Higgs mechanism that gives fermions mass. I will also use this channel to study the properties of the Higgs boson by searching for anomalous couplings to massive vector bosons. For the Level-1 trigger, I will be developing firmware for high performance FPGAs in the current calorimeter trigger and the Phase-II track trigger.

My role in CMS past and present:

My interest in searches for processes with decays to bottom quarks began when working on the commissioning, calibration, and operation of the pixel detector. Thanks to the pixel detector's precise position resolution, bottom quarks can be identified by reconstructing their decays inside jets. I first searched for supersymmetry models decaying to bottom quarks. Now, I am using Higgs boson decays to bottom quarks to test the standard model. My interest in FPGAs is more recent. These devices have become very powerful in recent years and have many exciting applications in particle physics.
