LPC Distinguished Researcher

Name:

Hannsjörg Weber

Institution:

Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory

What I will be working on:

With the collection of the full run-2 dataset, I will work in close contact with different third generation sfermion searches, including the LPC-centered top squark searches, to ensure that the various analyses for these particles work together towards a joint publication to get the most sensitive result that CMS can achieve. Coupled with my work towards the publication of the triple-W boson standard model search, I also plan to establish a working group of different multiboson analyses aiming for a common interpretation for (anomalous) triple and quartic gauge couplings.

My role in CMS past and present:

I joined CMS in 2010 and since then I worked on searches for supersymmetry. Currently, I am performing a search for the pair production of top squarks in the single-lepton channel using the full run-2 dataset. Since 2017, I am one of the convener of the SUSY PAG subgroup for third generation sfermion searches (stop, sbottom, and staus). In addition, I work on a standard model analysis targeted towards the observation of triple-W boson events (pp --> WWW). I also was involved in the phase-1 forward pixel detector upgrade: I was responsible for the testing of service electronics, and I co-led both the assembly and commissioning of the forward detector.
