Name:

Giuseppe Cerati

What I will be working on:

My primary goal for 2015 is to focus on the analysis of same-sign dilepton events with Run 2 data and improve the sensitivity of CMS analyses in this final state. This signature is present in several BSM scenarios, including supersymmetry and vector boson scattering. Key aspects for an early publication are the definition of a robust selection and the study of analysis objects with first data so that systematic uncertainties and minimized.

My role in CMS past and present:

I have been a member of CMS since 2006 and since then I contributed to the its success in several aspects. Most notably, I have been one of the main actors in the observation of the Higgs boson in the WW channel and the measurement of the non-resonant WW cross section; on the reconstruction side, my main contribution mainly focussed on the development and the performance of tracking algorithms - in this context I have served as tracking POG convener in 2013-2014.
