LPC Distinguished Researcher

Name:

Christopher Hill

What I will be working on:

In 2016, I will carryout searches for evidence of BSM physics in the 13 TeV data, with an emphasis on analyses that involve long-lived particles requiring novel triggering/reconstruction techniques. I am also contributing to the design of the Phase 2 forward pixel (FPIX) detector. In 2016, this activity will involve running increasingly detailed simulations to assess the physics performance of the proposed Phase 2 as a function of the critical design parameters.

My role in CMS past and present:

I am presently the USCMS L2 manager for the Phase 2 Tracker project. Prior to this I have been CMS Deputy Physics Coordinator (2012-2013), responsible for the overall CMS physics program. I have also been CMS Exotica Group convener (2010-2011), responsible for searches for non-SUSY BSM.
