What I will be working on:

My research will focus on searching for dark matter at CMS. Dark matter is our strongest indication that there must be physics beyond the Standard Model and deciphering its nature forms the cornerstone of both astrophysics and particle physics. I will search for the production of dark matter particles using the simple yet striking signature of a monojet balanced by missing transverse energy.

List of achievements during your fellowship

At CMS, I have been particularly interested in estimating the background from Z decaying to neutrinos which is a dominant background in many new physics searches. I searched for new physics using the monojet signature which set stringent constraints on dark matter production and Large Extra Dimensions.
