What I will be working on:

My research program for the year 2020 will focus on three different tracks. The first track is represented by hardware development for the Phase 2 upgrade of the CMS detector. Over 90% of the data collected by the LHC program will be collected in the HL-LHC phase, it is therefore essential that the hardware components for the CMS detector upgrade meet the specifications and are assembled in a precise, reliable, and timely manner. For this track I will be working on Outer Tracker upgrade modules assembly. The second track concerns a high-profile search for the very rare four top standard model production. This includes a full Run2 dataset combination and preparations for the next data-taking periods. The third track is the development of advanced Machine Learning and computing tools in order to tackle the challenges of Run3 and HL-LHC data taking conditions, and take advantage of the Phase 2 upgraded detector. For this track I will focus on innovative network configurations, end-to-end reconstruction, and exploring novel computer architectures to train more efficiently AI algorithms.

My role in CMS past and present:

  • “Future New Physics” L3 convener in the Physics Upgrade Studies Group (UPSG)
  • Member of the CMS Career Committee
  • PPD contact in the B2G group
  • Member of the CMS Young Scientist Committee
