LPC Distinguished Researcher
Institution:
Chulalongkorn U
What I will be working on:
In 2024, as a Senior CMS LPC Distinguished Researcher, Phat will concentrate on both software development and physics analysis. On the software front, the primarily focus will be on the Full, Fast, and Flash simulations for CMS, as well as the CMS Phase-2 software. In terms of physics analysis, the emphasis will be on studying highly ionized particles, such as magnetic monopoles. The research plan includes exploring tracking algorithms and triggers specifically designed for these highly ionized particle candidates.
My role in CMS past and present:
- Jan 2022 - present: Team leader of Chulalongkorn university in CMS collaboration
- Jan 2021 - present: Level-2 convener of CMS Phase-2 software, Offline and Computing coordination
- Jul 2018 - Aug 2020: Level-1 coordinator of Physics Performance and Dataset (PPD) group
- Sep 2017 - 2023: CMS School Committee
- Sep 2013 - Aug 2016: Level-2 convener of Physics Data-Monte Carlo Validation
- 2013: Monte Carlo contact person of Higgs-Exotica group
- 2013 - present: Official CERN and CMS guides
- 2012 - 2013: Physics Performance and Dataset (PPD) contact person of Exotica group, and Data Quality Monitoring (DQM) developer, and validator for both JetMET trigger and SUSY groups
- 2011 - 2021: Deputy team leader of Chulalongkorn University in CMS Collaboration
- 2011 - 2016: Physics Analysis Tools tutorial team
