Name:

Sara Bolognesi

What I will be working on:

I'm currently working on the Higgs search in the ZZ decay channel which has a crucial importance in the whole Higgs mass spectrum. At low mass it allows to characterize precisely any possible excess, not only with a precise mass determination but also performing spin measurement. At high mass this channel plays a crucial role to probe the Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Mechanism, especially considering the Vector Boson Fusion production mechanism. I'm working in the Johns Hopkins group which is leading the effort of applying angular analysis to the Higgs search to boost the sensitivity and to perform spin measurement.

My role in CMS past and present:

I participated to the commissioning of the detector and of our analysis tools, first exploiting cosmic muons and then Standard Model candles. I was co-author of the first measurement at 7 TeV of J/psi->mm, Z->mm cross sections and the measurement of the rate of associated jet production in events with Vector Bosons (Z/W + jets). Moreover I was involved in the Physics Coordination effort in the first 2 years of data taking.
