Name:

Vasundhara Chetluru

What I will be working on:

I will be working on improving photon identification techniques. New tools for improving the photon identification using modified Frixione cone were proposed last year. I will work on understanding the impact of such tools on QCD precision measurements and Higss to gamma gamma searches. After joining Fermilab as a Research Associate (RA) in October 2008, I continued to work on photons and jets.

My role in CMS past and present:

I joined CMS in 2007 as a graduate student. My fi rst project in CMS was to optimize the tracking algorithm for Heavy Ions. I was part of one of the early Heavy Ion studies demonstrating the performance of CMS detector in using the gamma+jet events as a tomographic probe in understanding the strongly interacting matter produced during these collisions. After joining Fermilab as a Research Associate (RA) in October 2008, I continued to work on photons and jet in proton-proton collisions. I have been a part of the early photon cross-section measurments papers from CMS and continue to make gamma + jet differential cross-section measurements. I worked with ConfDB database in 2009 and 2010 as a part of the HLT team during which I helped restructuring and maintaining both back-end and front-end of the database. I now continue to work with HLT team as the EGamma HLT contact.
