Name:

Yuri Gershtein

What I will be working on:

I will be concentrating on the search for the Higgs boson in di-photon mode, and associated tasks involving photon reconstruction and identification using Particle Flow. I'm also participating in the beyond the SM searches in channels with two high Et isolated photons (Gauge-mediated SUSY, Stealth SUSY, etc).

My role in CMS past and present:

I did my first work on CMS back in 1994-96 when I participated in beam tests of the Quartz Fiber calorimeter and performed simulation work to determine physics requirements to forward calorimetry in CMS. After re-joining CMS in 2005 I concentrated on software for photon reconstruction and identification and ECAL beam tests. Lately, I've been involved in several analyses with photons and work on the PLT.
