LPC Graduate Scholar

Name:

Ali Celik

What I will be working on:

I am currently searching for SUSY with events with soft muon(s) plus two jets in Vector Boson Fusion (VBF) topology at LHC. The strategy is the same as in SUS-14-005 but we have designed and implemented "low pt muon+VBF" HLT trigger, new for Run 2, in order to improve the sensitivity in the search by enabling to access to events with lower MET and soft muons.

I also work to finalize and validate the GE2/1 design based on trigger and reconstruction for TDR.

My role in CMS past and present:

I started working at CMS in 2012. I am also a lead graduate student in GEM Detector Performance Group (DPG) where I contributed to maximize the acceptance for muons in the GE1/1 chambers with an optimized number of VFATs.
