Name:

Miaoyuan Liu

Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory

What I will be working on:

I plan to search for very rare processes with three heavy bosons at the LPC with LHC Run 2 dataset and investigate complementary ways to constrain Higgs self-couplings with vector boson scattering processes. I will also apply deep learning techniques for track finding in the CMS Level-1 muon trigger as well as the corresponding implementation on FPGAs.

My role in CMS past and present:

I joined CMS in 2015 as a Fermilab postdoc. I searched for supersymmetric particles in both strong and electroweak production and served as the co-convener of the SUSY Monte Carlo production group. I contributed to the forward phase 1 pixel upgrade with a focus on testing the service electronics. I also led the system testing and commissioning of the FPIX at the tracker integration facility at CERN in 2016 and 2017. I searched for a very rare process with three W bosons using 2016 dataset and also served as the co-convener of the Standard Model multi-boson group. Recently, I am exploring applications of fast machine learning inference for high energy physics DAQ and offline computing.
