What I will be working on:

My work will concentrate in exploring the Higgs sector as a portal for physics Beyond the Standard Model by investigating production modes of new resonances decaying into Higgs bosons and new scalars. The work aims at setting up the foundation of new analyses with Run II, Run III and HL-LHC data and at future colliders. In addition, I aim to develop a comprehensive and integrated framework for quality control to be applied to the Phase II Outer Tracker production.

My role in CMS past and present:

I joined the CMS Collaboration in 2014 as a PhD student and my research mainly concentrated on the CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer (PPS) tracking detector, which is the first application of 3D pixel sensors at CMS. In this activity I tested the detector prototypes in laboratory and on beam tests, defined the quality control and testing procedures for the module production, developed the DAQ software for the data taking at CMS, participated in the installation in LHC, commissioned the detector and I was the main contact during the 2017 and 2018 data taking. In 2018 I joined the Fermilab group as Research Associate and I am currently working on the search for a new resonance decaying into a Higgs boson and a BSM scalar in the four b-quark final state using the CMS Run II dataset. I am also responsible for the Phase II Tracker Middleware, the low-level software used to redout the detector, and I am deeply involved in the test of 2S module prototypes at the Fermilab SiDet.
